Glass Options

Glass should be selected on the basis of thermal insulation requirement (climatic condition), sound insulation requirement (surrounding environment condition) and safety requirement. Krystal Magic World windows and doors can accommodate any type of glass as desired and required as per the clients requirements. Following are the type of glasses which can be selected:-

Toughened Glass

Tempered glass is made from normal annealed glass via a thermal tempering process in which the glass is subjected to heat till its softening point and then rapidly cooled. This gives the glass its strength. A fully tempered glass is used in most modern glass facade, where glass strength is required. Areas where risk of thermal breakage or impact breakage is high, fully tempered glass should be used so as to avoid risk of injury. Glass strength is also required in point fixed glazing, bolted and patch fittings.

Double / Triple Glazing Glass (Insulated Glass)

IGUs’ are basically multiple layered glass panes that have very dry air or inert gas between the glass panes. The glass panes are hermetically sealed. Any use of two thick nesses of glass, separated by an air space, within an opening, to improve insulation against heat transfer and/or sound transmission. In factory-made double-glazing units the air between the glass sheets is thoroughly dried and the space is sealed airtight, eliminating possible condensation and providing superior insulating properties.

Security Glass

Laminated glass, regard as “Safety glass”, consist of two or more panes of glass with one or more layers of polyvinyl butyral (PVB) sandwiched between them. The glass panes can be basic float glass or tempered or heat strengthened panel. If the glass is broken fragments tend to adhere to the PVB interlayer thereby reducing the risk of injury from falling glass and helping to resist further impact or weather damage. PVB membrane has good tenacity performance and when the laminated glass breaks due to violent force, the PVB will absorb large amount of impact energy and disperse it rapidly. Therefore, it hard to break the laminated glass and the shape of the glass may be maintained even if being broken.

Float Glass

Clear Float Glass is the highest quality clear float glass with high precision flatness (surface smoothness). Characterized by its uniform thickness.

Tinted Glass

Tinted Heat-absorbing Glass is a body tinted glass which absorbs energy from solar radiation. It, therefore, cuts down the sun’s heat, enabling greater convenience and comfort inside the building, while enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the building from outside.
